Dr. Richard S. Stack is a Professor Emeritus of Medicine in Cardiology at Duke University; President and Managing Partner of Synecor, LLC (Synecor), a specialized asset creation and management organization that serves as a med-tech business generator and incubator of new medical technology companies based in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina; and a Managing Partner of Synergy Life Science Partners, LP (Synergy), a life science venture fund based in Silicon Valley, California. Since leaving clinical practice to form Synecor in 2000, Richard has personally founded 10 medical technology, R&D and financial organizations, including Synecor and Synergy. In addition to inventing the original technologies for each of the Synecor incubated companies, Dr. Stack has invented or co-invented over 50 major medical products sold worldwide during his career and has over 150 issued and pending patents in his name.
