Call for Proposals: Kaganov Research Initiative

MEDx is pleased to announce a call for proposals that focus on, or have relevance to, lung function or lung disease, especially pulmonary fibrosis.

The proposed research should address the following priorities:

  • Improve our understanding of disease mechanisms
  • Enhance diagnosis
  • Create more effective treatments
  • Ultimately find pathways to cure IPF and other lung diseases

The proposals may address basic biomedical questions or may be translational in nature, but each application must represent a collaboration between a faculty member in the Pratt School of Engineering and a faculty member in the School of Medicine. Because of the focus, the applicants are encouraged to have physicians or scientists with lung disease expertise as part of the collaborative team.

We anticipate awarding at least three grants that range in amount up to $150,000 in direct costs. The term of the award is one year. The intent of the grants is to position investigators to obtain external funding.
